Bundle Up.

September 5th, 2010

I am in denial that the colder seasons are here until my skin and hair started to dry out. Yes, this early we can already feel the Autumn breeze. Although there are days when the temperature still reaches high 90s but definitely during the late afternoon till night time, you cannot stroll outside without a sweater.

Thanks to these promotional products and free samples as I was able to try out my new Winter season friends tee hee. I am talking about these products.

For the past 2 weeks that I have been using these specific John Frieda shampoo and conditioner alternately, I can already feel that these would give the moisture my hair needs.

On the other hand, I think my quest for the most affordable yet effective Winter season lotion has ceased because these Olay Body Quench Lotion and Eucerin Daily Replenishing Lotion will be skin’s company all throughout Winter.

tricks & tips while dying my hair

February 28th, 2009

I am not done uploading photos in my flickr account and therefore this site is not yet fully ready. But, I just can’t resist posting these tricks and tips I got while I was dying my hair and watching these beauty secrets from the Tyra Banks show. It is my 1st time to dye my hair. I have my mom, my friends and my ever reliable stylist, Ziggy to do hair tricks for me. As you know, any beauty service in this side of the world is so costly so dying your own hair is very practical, so I bravely dyed my own hair and it went well.

Unfortunately, my hair is so dry from all the change in seasons and it’s longer by around 4-6 inches since my last haircut. I was so scared to over-dry it by dying it the wrong way but voila, OLIVE OIL does the trick! According to Mr. & Miss J: “Olive Oil is a natural remedy that will keep your hair smooth from the root to the tip! Rinse hair with warm water. Warm 1 tablespoon of oil treatment in the palms of your hands. Using your fingertips (not nails), gently massage the oil into the scalp in a circular motion. Repeat until the entire scalp has been massaged. Rub the ends of your hair with the remaining oil. Rinse and shampoo as normal.”

It is best to do this especially after coloring your hair! But, if you live in a tropical country that produces a lot of coconuts such as the Philippines, coconut oil are better than olive oil! Coconut oil will guarantee to make your hair shinier and softer. Just make sure to do them during a long weekend because the smell does stay long in your hair, you need to shampoo your hair 2-3 times to get rid of the coconut smell.

And then I remembered my friend, Joy was asking me the best way to conceal a facial birthmark. Jay Manuel says: “the real trick is to put your foundation on first, before your concealer, because it has great covering properties.” This is exactly how I do it but make sure to prep your face with a moisturizer before applying the foundation and concealer. If you do not know how to use a concealer brush, it’s better to use your fingers and carefully dub them.

This is all for now. You can catch all the other beauty tricks of the 2 Js at Tyra’s Website.
