And yes, I have been living under the rock, the rock of shopping! I wasn’t able to grab myself this limited edition Urban Decay’s new Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows at $52. Don’t worry, you and I can still sign up to be notified as soon as the next round of palettes goes on sale. Now, that’s what I get from ignoring all online shops’ emails and sales alert. Come to think of it, why did I even bother checking their site when I was supposed to be checking ways on how to reduce belly fat.

But yes, this is such a good deal and a nice palette combination :) .

I was checking on furnace filters, when I chanced upon this email from Smashbox. How genius of Smashbox to give their customers a chance to try out the best of their best products. My friend, J was just asking me how Smashbox cosmetics are in terms of their foundation finish and texture. I told her that after years and years of searching for the right concealer, the Smashbox Camera-ready Full coverage Concealer Stick (in #2) is the best concealer to cover my dark undereye circles. Too bad it is not part of this sampler kit. But for all of you who wants to try Smashbox foundation and primer, this is a practical. Think of the bonus o-gloss and other lip glosses that are part of this sampler kit. Enabler mode, on!

Here is the make-up loot I am excited for this week. :) .
As I have written in my previous entry, I failed to keep my vow. I broke a vow not to shop for anything for myself from October 1-January 2010. Everything was going smooth until the huge temptation came. I know that I would easily give in to a make-up set, a very affordable one from a good friend who sells awesome online loots. So here is what I got from her, the limited edition of Mac Graphic Garden Sweet Tease Lookbook. This collection is something I can use everyday from the brush to the eyeshadow, beauty powder that could also be used as a blush highlighter down to the lipglass. Now, I have to exert double time to save up for the car accessories that I would give DH as his Christmas gift. hee hee.

My make-up artist friend, H swears by this and in fact hoarded this item when he was in NYC for a training. It is really a lot cheaper if you purchase this in the U.S. and wait for Urban Decay’s quarterly discounts. Anyways, I am talking about the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I have tried a couple of other eyeshadow primer brands but by far, this is the one that lasts more than 8 hours leaving my 2-3 blended eyeshadows without crease and smudges. It can also act as a nice base color and gives your blended eyeshadows long-lasting sharp colors. Now that I found the best Eyeshadow Primer, I’m off to find the  best acne treatment.

A friend is going to shop for an eyelash curler over the weekend (while her hubby shops for pet supplies) and wants my opinion on my top choices. Before I became a make-up artist, I didn’t really care what brand or kind of eyelash curler to use, I usually get the cheapest pick (cheapskate I am!) and would spend more on mascara. But after strutting some apprenticeships with the more experienced make-up artists, I have learned that choosing the best eyelash curler can make or break your eye make-up.

Here are my top picks:

1. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler: Who wouldn’t love this eyelash curler? This is the best so far and popularly-known to give you that long-lasting and natural curve for your eyelashes. My only problem with this one is that it is not wide enough for big eyes. I remembered this was my sole reason why I chose Shiseido eyelash curler over Shu Uemura brand, when I was still doing make-up professionally. When I encounter clients with eyes that are wide (not big), I had to do the 1st half of their lashes and on to the next. It was quite taxing.  But in general, this is the best eyelash curler.

shuuemura2. Shiseido Eyelash Curler: The curve it produces your lashes is almost the same as what Shu Uemura brand can give you but the curl/curve is not that long-wearing/lasting as compared with Shu Uemura. This is my current eyelash curler and have been using it for almost 5 years now, I just change the rubber from time to time :) .
shiseido
3. Japonesque Power Curl Eyelash Curler: It gives you a straight-line pressure that produces a natural curl. A bit cheaper than  the first two. If you want to save some bucks, this is a good pick.

When me and my parents, along with some visiting friends were treading the stretch of a historic tourist spot a day ago, my mom brought up this question to me: how to lose belly fat in 5 days? You see, my mom is a lot thinner than I am but big and fat bellies ran in our genes so even though we lost a lot of weight, our bellies are still flabby and huge haha! But that’s the least of my concern these days because I cannot fit my workout routine because of our very hectic schedule which leads  to sleepless night. Hence, this Garnier Brightening Eye Roll On is something I need to try which according to a blogger friend and my mom is the ultimate answer to black under-eye and eyebags. Have you tried this? What do you have to say abou this product? What are your thoughts?garnier

I just realized I never got the chance to review my NYX Haul which I bought during their last huge sale.  So before I check on this life insurance from Wholesale Insurance, here are photos of my NYX Haul and my take on this brand.
bili bili na kayo hahaha!
Lipsticks:
*NYX LIPS: Cocoa, Thalia, Champagne, Snow white
*NYX ROUND: Perfect, Herades, Margarita, Peony, Frapuccino, Summer Love
*NYX Black Label: Tea in the Afternoon, Nude

The ROUND lipstick collection will keep your lips moisturized but the the BLACK LABEL collection has a long-wearing factor. Must-get shades are Thalia, Perfect, Peony, Tea in the Afternoon and Nude. However, you have to re-apply these lipsticks especially after every meals. They are not that long-wearing as compared to other high-end brands.

lipstickSSSS!
Blush:
L-R: DustyRose; Taupe; Nutmeg; Angel

I love their blush and all the shades I got are just perfect. Although, the Dusty Rose is heavily pigmented which can be very pink on my cheeks because I have a fair-complexion, the Angel shade is perfect for that blushing effect. The Taupe shade is good for contouring while the Nutmeg shade is very comparable with the Nutmeg blush of BodyShop. Surprisingly, their blush are long-wearing, no need for touch-ups.Blush, blush!

EYESHADOW:

TRIO:
TS16: Opal/Platinum/SilverLuster
TS08:SpringLeaf/LimeGreen/GreenTea
TS03: Nude/Taupe/DarkBrown
SINGLE:
Flamingo, Champagne, Highlight, Spring Flower, Beauty Queen

Do you want to experiment on different eye shadows which are pigmented and long-wearing but come in such an affordable price, try Nyx shadows! enough said :) . P6030262

I know I still owe you one last Everyday Minerals concealer review to complete my Everyday Minerals Comprehensive Review but I just cannot contained my excitement upon seeing these newbies from their site and Make-Up Alley forum. So, I’d do the review shortly.

Oooh, I am hearing order now in my ears today :) . Finally they came up with a retractable Kabuki Brush perfect for travel emergency. A comparison on the size of the Retractable Kabuki Brush visavis the baby Kabuki was shot by a Make-up Alley member. Also, they now have Baby Flat Top Brush, how cute that can be! And the last photo is a palette kit for their loose/mineral eyeshadows. I might order the retractable brushes, who wants to join me in my cart?

Here’s a quick run down of the life span of Make-Up before I head on to buy some kitchen rugs. I still wonder what Hoarders and Make-up Addicts do when their Make-Up expires. I bet they just keep throwing them away to make room for newer ones.

This is one of the reasons I control myself from hoarding because I know it’s never healthy to use expired make-up.

  • MASCARA:4-6 Months
  • EYELINER:1 Year
  • FOUNDATION&CONCEALER:1 Year
  • BLUSH&EYESHADOW:1-2 Years
  • LIPSTICK:8 Months
  • BRUSHES:A year of longer, even forever, depends on the brand and how you care for it.

Back in college and in my early days as an office girl, Body Shop is a frequent cosmetics store I visit. Once I’m inside this store, I find it so hard to find the exit signs and get out of this store hee hee. Aside from my regular purchase of their body butter creams and moisturizers, I make sure to always have My Bodyshop Lip&Cheek Stain. You can check THIS ENTRY why I ceased buying this Lip&Cheek stain staple.

Aside from their body butter, these 2 shimmer waves are what I consider 2 of Body Shop’s must-haves. I even used these to my brides before. These are Bronze and Pink Shimmer Waves, for the cheeks and eyes. For best results on eye make-up, it is better applied when wet :) .

What are you Body Shop must haves?

For LitzieBody shop shimmer waves in Bronze and Hues.
