Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes: Evening Soothe REVIEW

November 13th, 2011

Before I check on this tourmaster site for a friend, let me share a new staple in my bedside + travel kit.

A piece of Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes in Evening Soothe is what I needed after a day’s worth of stress and heavy make-up. It feels like I had a cold masque on my cheeks and freshly sliced cucumber on my eyes. I do not use it daily but when I feel like I needed a cold masque to relax me before I hit the sack, I get one and pat it gently on my face. I use this AFTER cleaning my face with Cetaphil and SK-II facial cleanser and BEFORE I apply my night cream. While it claims to remove make-up especially mascara, it cannot remove mine. So make sure to remove your make up with your regular facial cleanser then gently pat a towelette before you apply your night cream.

Dry Shampoo Review: KLORANE

October 30th, 2011

Our posguys barcode scanner isn’t working at the moment and that means, I can spare a few hours today to update this blog. I shall do quick reviews of the newest items in my beauty products stash, then. Starting off with this Dry Shampoo brand, KLORANE.

I have always been curious about Dry Shampoos and how good they can replace a real shampooed hair. My hair is long, thick with big curly waves. I like it this way and I have come to terms that it will always be easier for me to maintain a long hair than a shorter cut considering the texture of my hair. While I cannot classify my hair regimen as high-maintenance, (Wash, Apply Bedhead-small talk Product, Brush once a day, Wear!) there are days I feel like my hair is better off unwashed especially during the colder seasons. However, I workout everyday and that means, my hair will stink if I do not wash it every single day hee hee. So I tried out this Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk after Drugstore.com/Beauty.com offered it on sale. According to their site, this is how you should apply it.

  1. Shake can well before use and in between sprays.
  2. Spray roots evenly holding can 10 inches from head. Do not spray on hair lengths – it is meant for the scalp and roots.
  3. Leave product in for 2 minutes to allow it to soak up oil.
  4. Brush hair thoroughly until the powder is removed.
  5. Style as desired!
  6. (10-15 uses from the 3.2 oz can and around 3-5 from the 1.06 oz can)

All in all I find it really expensive considering the amount I need for my long thick hair. I bought the small can and I think I could only use it for 3-5 times. I like how my hair smells after applying it, however, it feels a little heavy towards the end of the day. There are powderish residue in my scalp even if I sprayed only a few times. To conclude, nothing beats shampooing your hair the natural way, water + shampoo. BUT, my hair had a different kind of volume (big hair with tamed curls) after applying Klorane. I might just use this on days I feel so lazy to wash my hair but I do not think I will purchase this again.

Summer’s Eve: new packaging

August 8th, 2011

Just a quick post to share with you the new packaging of my favorite Summer’s Eve feminine/cleansing wash before I check on this floor cord cover.

You see, I got a huge rebate from Drugstore.com/Beauty.com a few weeks ago. I am trying to stop myself from buying another make-up which I would end up not using, so I used the rebates to get me and my boys some toiletries staple. To my surprise, when my order arrived, I got this! I haven’t seen this in Walmart or any drugstore but yes, after much research, I have known that Summer’s Eve revamped their old packaging to this. Looks cute huh :) .

New Packaging?! It's called cleansing wash not/not feminine wash anymore. 

Look Ma, New Hands :P.

March 24th, 2010

One of my greatest weaknesses include nicely-shaped, well-manicured, soft and very smooth pair of hands. I inherited my Dad’s hands (and fingernails!) and with the amount of house chores, non-stop typing and office work I did and still doing, my hands look like they have been left over drying forever in some very efficient hand dryers—hard, dry, chippy, cracked and poorly-shaped. Boo hoo! I was careless about this pair of hands for as long as I can remember until my Mom came over to visit us and gave me a manicure. She was right, house chores and busy schedule can never be a good excuse to be delinquent in caring for myself, my hands included. So off we trooped to Walmart and she bought my first kitchen gloves :P .

Apart from wearing gloves, I have become very particular with the products I use for my hands. Remember? I used these Burt’s Bees Hand Salve and Hand Sanitizer last Winter? Apparently, these weren’t enough to combat my hands from dryness and eventually production of dead skin and cuticles.

…And so this is my recent discovery. I tell you, the paraffin wax does the works. My hands have never been this soft and smooth (yes, they are still poorly-shaped :( and without nail polish) when I started using Bath and Body Look Ma New Hands! Softening Hand lotion with Paraffin. The paraffin seals in the moisture without making my hands feel greasy. You owe your hands this 12 bucks product.

Happy Halloween!
I am finishing up my remaining blogging tasks before we head off for our TrickorTreat marathon today. At first, Dear Husband does not want to go to any crowded places this Halloween because of the ah1n1 scare. But, of course we do not want to let DS feel disappointed especially when he had already been wearing his 2 costumes for weeks now. I told DH that we will just load ourselves with Vitamin C and keep handy my most favorite hand sanitizer these days. Burt’s Bess Aloe and Witch Hazel Hand Sanitizer. Grab them at your nearest drugstore or grocery for only 5 bucks. I better end this entry because I need to finalize our holiday photo cards orders. BOO!
