A friend is going to shop for an eyelash curler over the weekend (while her hubby shops for pet supplies) and wants my opinion on my top choices. Before I became a make-up artist, I didn’t really care what brand or kind of eyelash curler to use, I usually get the cheapest pick (cheapskate I am!) and would spend more on mascara. But after strutting some apprenticeships with the more experienced make-up artists, I have learned that choosing the best eyelash curler can make or break your eye make-up.

Here are my top picks:

1. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler: Who wouldn’t love this eyelash curler? This is the best so far and popularly-known to give you that long-lasting and natural curve for your eyelashes. My only problem with this one is that it is not wide enough for big eyes. I remembered this was my sole reason why I chose Shiseido eyelash curler over Shu Uemura brand, when I was still doing make-up professionally. When I encounter clients with eyes that are wide (not big), I had to do the 1st half of their lashes and on to the next. It was quite taxing.  But in general, this is the best eyelash curler.

Shiseido Eyelash Curler: The curve it produces your lashes is almost the same as what Shu Uemura brand can give you but the curl/curve is not that long-wearing/lasting as compared with Shu Uemura. This is my current eyelash curler and have been using it for almost 5 years now, I just change the rubber from time to time :) .

3. Japonesque Power Curl Eyelash Curler: It gives you a straight-line pressure that produces a natural curl. A bit cheaper than  the first two. If you want to save some bucks, this is a good pick.
