Our posguys barcode scanner isn’t working at the moment and that means, I can spare a few hours today to update this blog. I shall do quick reviews of the newest items in my beauty products stash, then. Starting off with this Dry Shampoo brand, KLORANE.
I have always been curious about Dry Shampoos and how good they can replace a real shampooed hair. My hair is long, thick with big curly waves. I like it this way and I have come to terms that it will always be easier for me to maintain a long hair than a shorter cut considering the texture of my hair. While I cannot classify my hair regimen as high-maintenance, (Wash, Apply Bedhead-small talk Product, Brush once a day, Wear!) there are days I feel like my hair is better off unwashed especially during the colder seasons. However, I workout everyday and that means, my hair will stink if I do not wash it every single day hee hee. So I tried out this Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk after Drugstore.com/Beauty.com offered it on sale. According to their site, this is how you should apply it.
- Shake can well before use and in between sprays.
- Spray roots evenly holding can 10 inches from head. Do not spray on hair lengths – it is meant for the scalp and roots.
- Leave product in for 2 minutes to allow it to soak up oil.
- Brush hair thoroughly until the powder is removed.
- Style as desired!
(10-15 uses from the 3.2 oz can and around 3-5 from the 1.06 oz can)
All in all I find it really expensive considering the amount I need for my long thick hair. I bought the small can and I think I could only use it for 3-5 times. I like how my hair smells after applying it, however, it feels a little heavy towards the end of the day. There are powderish residue in my scalp even if I sprayed only a few times. To conclude, nothing beats shampooing your hair the natural way, water + shampoo. BUT, my hair had a different kind of volume (big hair with tamed curls) after applying Klorane. I might just use this on days I feel so lazy to wash my hair but I do not think I will purchase this again.

You see, for the past 2 weeks, I wore nothing on my nails. I got so busy that I have no time to even cut and clean my nails and also, was so stressed out that I find no inspiration to apply anything on my nails. This made me realize all the more that I do not need any nailpolish to be added in my stash! However, after seeing this new line inspired by Nicki Minaj which will be launched next year (thank goodness hee hee), I immediately took out my nailpolish kit and apply 2 different colors which I will share at my Instagram account later in the day. So before I check on this equestrian apparel, let me share this exciting collection from OPI. Boy oh Boy, I think I am going to break my nailpolish shopping ban when this comes out next year.

L-R: Super Bass Shatter, Save Me Metallic 4 Life, Fly, Did it on ‘Em, Pink Friday.

Do you know that one of the best stores to run for some of my favorite staple make-ups are drugstores and pharmacies? Yes they do have the basic and staple beauty and grooming products and sometimes they offer cheaper rates. Read the rest of this entry »
Before I buy zumba at the source as I have been enjoying this fitness routine, let me finish the 2nd part of this entry.
I have only tried 7 nailpolish brands and I think I’m done trying out some more. In my humble opinion, OPI will always be my top nailpolish brand because of the color range (including their well-thought of shades name), the price (I always get them on sale which ranges from $5-6 usually at Drugstore.com), the longevity of their nailpolish, how quickly they dry up after application and how longwearing they seem to last on my nails despite the endless housechores. But this is just based on my own personal experience.
Here is a list of nailpolish brands I patronize with short reviews. It is certain that I would not buy anymore from the last 2 brands.
1. OPI.

L-R: OPI: White Shatter, Black Shatter, Katy Perry’s Not Like the Movies, Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night, Yodel me on my Cell, OPI on Collins Ave, Feelin’ Hot Hot Hot!, I’m Not Really A Waitress, Tickle my Frace-y, You Don’t Know Jacques, Suzi Loves Cowboys.
When it comes to OPI, it has never been a hit or miss thing for me. Every bottle is a worthy nailpolish investment.

2. Nicole by OPI.

L-R: Baby Blue, Love your Life (Justin Bieber ltd ed), Gold Texture Coat/Shatter, Step to the Beat of my Heart (Justin Bieber ltd ed).
Save for the heart glitter polishes which are not that easy to apply because the heart glitters settle on the bottom of the bottle, this OPI line is at par with their regular line.

3.) ORLY.

L-R: VIP, Ancient Jade, Frolic, Lemonade.
Orly is my luxury nailpolish guilty pleasure hee hee. I love their shades as they are more comprehensive than OPI however, the price is so steep and yes, they never go on sale (at least from where I buy). The packaging is a winner, you are never gonna drop an Orly Nailpolish bottle with their rubberized steady grip cover.

4. SALLY HANSEN.

Xtreme Wear: Green with Envy.
Price is very pocket friendly. If they improve on the quick drying department, then I would not have been bothered on shelling out a little more on OPI and Orly.

5. RIMMEL.

L-R: French Manicure Pro in French Rose, French White Tip Pro in French White Nail Tip Liner.
Another affordable brand but limited color range. However, their french manicure line is awesome especially with the very thin French White Nail tip liner brush.

6. CHINA GLAZE.

L-R: Cracked Concrete & Haute Metal.
This brand has an amazing quick drying solution, quicker than OPI brands. However, I just could not take the strong smell, so strong that I had migraine each time I apply this brand. Also, I had to open the doors and windows as the smell stays in the room, yes that is how strong the smell is. Too bad, I would love to try their other colors, it’s just too much for my nostrils plus my boys have occasional allergic rhinitis.

7. ESSIE.

L-R: Lilacism & Tart Deco.
Same goes with China Glaze, I know a lot of people have been raving about this brand but it just does not work for me
. I find their nailpolish very streaky, hence very hard to apply. Color range is outstanding but I could not see myself buying another bottle of Essie now and in the future.

Last weekend, a newly-graduate cousin-in-law came over to our house to ask for my and DH’s help in finding Medical & Clinical Laboratory Technologist Jobs/opportunities for her. In between resume-editing, we took a break and she asked me to apply nailpolish on her virgin nails. This is where I put my nailpolish collection.

Coming up: Part 2: review on each brand and what shades I have in my stash…

I was supposed to check on rv insurance plans but I got so tired catching up with our housechores that I needed to divert my attention first, before I go full swing with my insurance research.
I was meaning on applying OPI RED polish as this week is my birthday week but I think that is kinda boring and predictable. Instead, I chose OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys (a chocolate brown shade). The perfect color that depicts exactly how I feel about turning another year older, whatever that means, I’ll keep it to myself hee hee.
You see, I have been searching for the right chocolate brown shade that would look nice on my toenails and finally I found one. I just had to make sure that I apply at least 2 coats to have that solid Chocolate Brown nails. As always, it was fast drying and not streaky, OPI always gets my thumbs up!
